There’s something “fishy” about the display on the upcoming Doogee F3 flagship phone
Rising Chinese smartphone manufacturer Doogee will soon be releasing its upcoming flagship phone, the Doogee F3. The device is going to have two variants, a regular edition and a limited edition. Our focus now is on the regular edition of the phone. This device will be powered by the MediaTek MT6753 SoC, with an octa-core 1.5GHz CPU and the Mali-T760 GPU. 2GB/3GB of RAM is inside and a 2200mAh battery keeps the engines humming. A 13MP camera adorns the back of the phone, and an 8MP snapper graces the front. Besides dual SIM capabilities, the phone supports 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.1 is pre-installed.
You might have noticed that we left out the display. That is because the 5-inch Gorilla Glass protected screen (which offers a 720 x 1280 HD resolution) needs to be discussed separately. The display is made of Ultra Clear Glass, which is the same material that high-end fish tanks are made from. The material is said to provide a look that is “as clear as crystal” with a light transmittance rating of 91.5%. And to prevent the glass from getting hard to view thanks to smudge marks, fingerprints and other dirt, an AF nano-coating is applied to keep the screen clean. The 2.5D glass has 1mm thin side bezels.
Not only is the display kept as pristine as possible, the body of the device uses liquid metal to absorb vibrations. This protects the outside of the phone from getting scratches, dents and dings.
The Doogee F3 model with 2GB inside and a glass back will cost $149.99. There is also a model with 3GB of RAM that comes with a wooden back, and is priced at $169.99. The former is expected to launch in August, with the latter to be released in the following month. There is no word on when the limited edition of the Doogee F3 will be available. This is a premium handset with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution, 4GB of RAM and a 21MP rear camera employing a Sony sensor. The limited edition will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC.
