Indian industry exuded confidence that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will be able to make the NationalCapital as a global city and improve ease of doing business scenario to attract investments.
PHD Chamber appealed to new Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal not to insist on bringing down tariffs of utilities in areas of electricity, water and the like below their cost for those who do not fall in the category of vulnerable section since such measures may be non-productive on the newdispensation in the long run.
Assocham expressed confidence that the AAP government will be able to make thenational capital as a global city harnessing the strength of the common-man whose power and potential has not been fully tapped.
“Kejriwal’s connect with the common man would go a long way in harnessing the people power which makes a huge difference to the industry and economy,” Assocham President Rana Kapoor said.
“The AAP Government will improve Delhi’s index on ease of doing business and attract new investments as the capital city will have better infrastructure,” the chamber said.
Kejriwal today took oath as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi at the historic Ramlila Ground here, exactly a year after he quit from the post on the Lokpal issue.
AAP won 67 out of the 70 seats in Delhi, a sweeping victory, in the recently held Assembly polls.
