Breaking News SpiceJet starts new automated system to help passengers – dcresource.biz
SpiceJet on Saturday said that it has pressed into service an automated disruption management system to enable passengers reschedule flights or get refund on their cancelled flights.
The airline said that customers whose flight has been cancelled can avail the new service by going online on the company’s home page and clicking on the ‘change/refund’ button.
This will enable the customer to book another flight or claim a refund.
“Due to the recent restructuring of our fleet size, customers are experiencing inconvenience, however to make things easier for them we have introduced an innovative self help link where they can manually modify their bookings due to cancellation or rescheduling of flights,” said Kaneswaran Avili, chief commercial officer, SpiceJet.
The airline’s recent initiative comes a day after its scrip at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) zoomed over 20 per cent on reports that the company’s former co-founder Ajay Singh, along with private equity players, might fund its operations.
Singh had launched SpiceJet along with Bhulo Kansagr. He had sold his stake to current promoter Kalanithi Maran in 2010.
SpiceJet, which is in the doldrums, has been given 15 days by the government to find new promoters to clear dues amounting to Rs 1,400 crore and get additional funding of Rs 200 crore to sustain operations.
