Now that you know the syllabus, let’s start the steps that you must know for the easiest way to your dream.

Schedule a Time Table: You can’t follow one time table today and then flip to another one the next day. It has to be a persistent one. You need the best time tables so that you can adhere to it and you can also have some profits out of it. You can choose the morning hours and evening hours. You can stick to four to five hours of daily self-study and then two hours of revision. When you do so, you will see the change happening in your understanding level. If you still struggle after a month or two, you should consider joining an IIT JEE coaching. If you join a coaching, there can be a reduction in the number of hours you self-study keeping the time for revision intact.

Notebooks: You have three subjects but don’t maintain a common notebook. Maintain separate notebook for every subject. If possible maintain a notebook for theories and one for practical. This should be applicable for each of the subjects. This will save time during the last few days before the entrance when you need a revision and you know which topic is where. Doesn’t it sound easy, organized and time saving process?

Clear your doubts: Whenever you have a doubt in coaching class, you need to ask your question instantly. This will improve your confidence and keep you away from dilemma. Make sure your basics are clear before you move to the tougher ones. This will make the process of solving answers easier.

Reference materials: When we say reference materials, we mean those materials that help us when we don’t understand a topic very well. It gets better to refer to these books if your concepts of your textbooks are thorough and there is no stop-gap. Cover your NCERT books and then refer the following reference materials.

  • Books for Physics: Concepts of Physics by HC Verma (Volume 1 and 2), Problem in Physics by A.A Pinsky, Problems in General Physics by I.E Irodov, Aptitude Test Problems in Physics L.A Sena.
  • Books for Chemistry: Organic Chemistry by Arihant Publications, Organic Chemistry by O.P Tandon, Inorganic Chemistry by O.P Tandon, IIT JEE by O.P Aggarwal, Numeric Chemistry by R.C Mukherjee.
  • Books for Mathematics: Algebra by Arihant Publications, Higher Algebra by Hall Knight, Vector and 3D Geometry by Arihant Publications, A Problem Book in Mathematical Analysis by G.N Berman.

Revision: If you have followed the above steps, you should be able to complete the course before two months of the entrance. Keep the last two months for revision and attempting previous year papers. This is the final nail that you need to hit. All your hard work and efforts will show in these two months. If you are able to solve eight to ten papers in this gap, you will be shocked to see the improvement in you. One thing to keep in mind is setting a timer or asking someone to keep a tab on time for you. You should attempt those papers as though you are writing your final entrance.

Food and Exercise: Of course, you will give your heart and soul in the preparation; however, don’t forget that the energy that you will get to do so is from your food. Never neglect your food. Drink lots of water and get involved in physical activity that will provide balance to your mind and body. You can go brisk walking, jogging or meditation. This will keep you focused and disciplined.

The steps sounds easy because there is always a smarter way out than panic at the last moment. These tips are for the students who are passionate about making it to the IITs in India and making in big in future. Hope these tactics help you like it has helped many and me in the past.

Good luck and may your dream come true!
