Gionee P7 with 5’ HD display launches in India for Rs 9,999

Gionee has launched the P7 Max Android smartphone in India at a price of Rs 9,999. The P7 is another addition to Gionee’s ‘P’ series after the company unveiled the P7 Max a few months ago in India.

The P7 comes with a 5-inch 720pHD display, a 13GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of in-built storage which can be expanded via a micro SD card (of upto 128GB) and a 2,300mAh battery. These are decidedly low-end specs and we feel the smartphone will find it hard to compete with the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the Redmi 3S Prime.

On the software front, the smartphone comes with Gionee’s own Amigo 3.2 OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The lack of Nougat is disappointing in the day and age. The smartphone sports a glass back and is available in three color variants, namely White, Latte Gold and Grey.

The Gionee P7 has an 8MP camera on the back which is accompanied by an LED flash along with a 5MP front shooter for selfies. The smartphone supports 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/Edge, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
