Top Engineering Entrance Exams Other than JEE
The Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) is conducted every year to shortlist candidates for JEE advance and the score is also used as a prerequisite for admissions in several top engineering institutes in India. This year, JEE main 2018 will be conducted between 8 to 16 April and JEE advance will be conducted on 20th May, 2018.
In India, there are numerous engineering institutes that accept JEE mains score for admissions. Candidates who clear the JEE mains cut-off are allowed to appear for the JEE advanced, the scores of which are used for admissions in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Apart from these two engineering entrance tests, several institutes also conduct their own entrance exams for admissions. Some of such top institutes are listed below along their admission test names.

- UPESEAT:
UPES Engineering Aptitude Test is conducted by University of Petroleum & Energy Studies for admissions in its various courses like Energy systems, Nuclear Energy, IT and Infrastructure, Mechatronics, Automotive Design, etc.
- IMUCET:
Conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU), IMU- CET (Common Entrance Test) is a prerequisite for admissions in the IMU campuses. IMU offers two Btech programs which are Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering. It also offers BSC and Diploma courses.
These were a few engineering entrance exams other than JEE that are conducted across the country. Engineering aspirants are required to apply for these exams and prepare for them properly. Most of these exams will be conducted after JEE mains exam but before JEE advance 2018.
It is also important to note that the syllabus for most engineering entrance tests are similar and so, a candidate preparing for JEE automatically prepares for the other entrance tests as well. So, it is extremely crucial to be well prepared for JEE mains exam to be able to crack JEE and most other entrance tests.
