Bank president selected for board

 

 

Thomas Leavitt

 

Thomas S. Leavitt of Waterbury Center, president and CEO of Northfield Savings Bank, has been named to the board of directors of the Norwich University Applied Research Institutes.

Leavitt has 22 years of banking experience and a history of community and board involvement. He was born in Burlington and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business & Economics and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The Norwich institutes support the U.S. financial sector with unique cybersecurity tools.

Leavitt said the organization “is at the vanguard of cybersecurity research and information assurance education.”

Directors serve two-year terms and can serve up to ten years.
